There is Power in the Name of Jesus! Knowing who he is and what he can do will ignite your faith and love in and for him. There is only one name we can use to be saved but there are many names that we can use to KNOW him. God said in Exodous_6:3 “And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.” God reveals himself through His Name. Selah.
Mediate on His Name.
Jesus Is…
Yeshua (Jesus): The Savior
Scripture: “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” — Matthew 1:21
The Revelation: The name Jesus is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Yeshua, which literally means “The Lord is Salvation.” This name is deeply rooted in both Hebrew and Aramaic. While Hebrew was the language of the Scriptures, Aramaic was the daily language Jesus spoke with His disciples. When His mother, Miriam (Mary), called out to Him, she used this name.
Yeshua is a shortened version of Yehoshua (Joshua), connecting Him to the theme of leading God’s people into the Promised Land. He didn’t just come to teach us or to be a good example; He came to be our “Yasha”—our Rescuer. When you speak the name Yeshua, you are announcing that the God of Israel has stepped into your situation to save, deliver, and protect.
Meditation: Close your eyes and whisper the name “Yeshua.” Realize that this is the actual name that echoed through the streets of Galilee. It carries the legal authority to cancel every debt and break every chain. He is your personal Rescuer.
Emmanuel: God With Us
Scripture: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” — Matthew 1:23
The Revelation: Before Jesus, God dwelt in the Tabernacle or the Temple. But in Emmanuel, God put on skin and moved into our neighborhood. This name means you never have to face a lonely night or a dark valley again. God isn’t watching you from a distance; He is “with you” in the middle of the mess. He is not a distant deity, but a present partner.
Meditation: Today, stop saying “God, where are You?” and start saying “Emmanuel, thank You for being right here.” Feel the warmth of His immediate presence.
The Alpha and Omega: The Beginning and the End
Scripture: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” — Revelation 1:8
The Revelation: Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Jesus is saying, “I have the first word and the last word over your life.” If He started a good work in you, He is the one who will finish it. You don’t have to worry about the middle of your story because the One who wrote the opening chapter has already written the victory in the final chapter. Meditation
Meditation: Hand over your unfinished business to Him. If He is the Omega, He has already seen the conclusion of your current struggle, and He is already there.
Jehovah Jireh: The Lord My Provider
Scripture: “And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, ‘In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.’” — Genesis 22:14
The Revelation: Jesus is the manifestation of the Father’s provision. Jireh actually means “to see to it.” Before you even have a need, Jesus has already “seen to it.” He doesn’t just give you things; He is your provision. Whether it is a financial miracle, a physical healing, or an emotional breakthrough, Jesus is the One who stands on the mountain and says, “I have already provided.”
Meditation: Identify your greatest “lack” today. Declare: “Jesus, You are my Jehovah Jireh. You have already seen to this need, and You are providing for me right now.”
The Prince of Peace (Sar Shalom)
Scripture: “For unto us a Child is born… And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6
The Revelation: The Hebrew word Shalom means more than just a lack of conflict; it means wholeness, completeness, and nothing missing or broken. As the Prince of Peace, Jesus has the authority to command the wind and waves of your soul to be still. He doesn’t just give you a peaceful feeling; He establishes a Kingdom of wholeness inside you that the world cannot shake.
Meditation: Where do you feel “broken” or “missing” something? Invite the Prince of Peace to enter that area and restore wholeness to your mind and heart.
The Good Shepherd
Scripture: “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” — John 10:11
The Revelation: A shepherd’s job is to feed, lead, and protect. Jesus is not a “hired hand” who runs when trouble comes; He is the Good Shepherd who stood between you and the wolf. He knows your name, He knows your weaknesses, and He knows exactly how to get you to green pastures. You don’t have to figure out the path; you just have to stay close to the Shepherd.
Meditation: Picture yourself resting in a safe meadow. Jesus is standing guard. Relax your shoulders and release your anxiety, knowing the Good Shepherd has His eyes on you.
The Bread of Life
Scripture: “And Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger…’” — John 6:35
The Revelation: Bread is a staple; it is what sustains life. Jesus is telling us that our spirits are just as real as our bodies, and they need “food” to survive. You can have all the money and success in the world and still be “starving” on the inside. Jesus is the only one who can satisfy the deep hunger for purpose, love, and significance. He is the daily bread that keeps you strong.
Meditation: If you feel “empty” today, stop trying to fill the hole with things. Come to Jesus and ask Him to feed your soul with His presence and His Word.
The Resurrection and the Life
Scripture: “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.’” — John 11:25
The Revelation: This name proves that nothing is ever “too dead” for Jesus to fix. He doesn’t just have the power to bring life; He is the power. Whether it is a dead dream, a dead relationship, or a dead hope, when the Resurrection and the Life steps onto the scene, the graveyard becomes a garden. He has the keys to death and the grave!
Meditation: Is there something in your life you’ve given up on? Bring it to Jesus today. Speak His name over that “dead” situation and ask for His life to flow into it.
The Way, The Truth, and The Life
Scripture: “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” — John 14:6
The Revelation: In a world of “many paths” and “relative truths,” Jesus makes a bold claim. He is not showing a way; He is The Way. He is not sharing a truth; He is The Truth. When you are lost, He is your map. When you are confused, He is your reality. When you are dying, He is your vitality. He is the complete package for your journey to God.
Meditation: If you feel lost or confused about a decision, stop looking for a “direction” and start looking for the “Way.” Follow Him, and you will always end up in the right place.
The True Vine
Scripture: “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser… I am the vine, you are the branches.” — John 15:1-5
The Revelation: The branch doesn’t struggle to produce grapes; it simply stays connected to the vine. Jesus is the Source of your life-force. Everything you need—joy, patience, power—is flowing from Him into you. As long as you “abide” (stay connected) to the True Vine, you will naturally produce fruit. Your only job is to stay attached to Him.
Meditation: Visualize the life of Jesus flowing into you like sap through a vine. Stop “working” for your growth and start “resting” in your connection to Him.
The Lion of the Tribe of Judah
Scripture: “But one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah… has prevailed…’” — Revelation 5:5
The Revelation: While Jesus is the Lamb in His sacrifice, He is the Lion in His authority. A lion is the king of the jungle; he fears nothing and his roar silences every other voice. Jesus is your Protector and your King. When you feel small or preyed upon by life, remember that the Lion of Judah is standing over you. He has prevailed over every enemy you will ever face.
Meditation: Listen for the “roar” of the Lion in your spirit. He is defending you. Let His courage rise up in you today.
The Bright and Morning Star
Scripture: “I, Jesus… am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” — Revelation 22:16
The Revelation: The morning star is the brightest star that appears in the sky just before the dawn. It is the signal that the darkness is over and a new day is beginning. Jesus is your hope in the middle of the night. No matter how dark your situation looks, the appearance of the Morning Star means your “dawn” is inevitable. He is the herald of your new season.
Meditation: Look toward your “tomorrow” with hope. The Morning Star is out. The sun is about to rise on your breakthrough.
The Chief Cornerstone
Scripture: “…Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.” — Ephesians 2:20-21
The Revelation: In ancient architecture, the cornerstone was the first stone set. It determined the angle and the stability of the entire building. If the cornerstone was off, the whole house would fall. Jesus is the Foundation of your life. When everything else is shaking, the Cornerstone stays solid. If you build your life on Him, you will never collapse under the pressure of life.
Meditation: Are you building your life on your career, your feelings, or other people? Re-align yourself today with the Chief Cornerstone. He is the only thing that won’t move.
King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Scripture: “And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” — Revelation 19:16
The Revelation: This is the ultimate title of authority. There are many “kings” on earth—presidents, bosses, and even the “kings” of sickness or debt. But Jesus is the King over those kings. His “Lordship” is the highest court in the universe. No matter who says “no” to you, if the King of Kings says “yes,” His word is final. He has no equal.
Meditation: Put every person or problem that is trying to “rule” you in its place. Declare that Jesus is the King of that situation, and every other king must bow to Him.
The Lamb of God
Scripture: “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’” — John 1:29
The Revelation: In the Old Testament, a lamb was sacrificed to cover sin. Jesus became the final, perfect sacrifice to remove sin forever. This name speaks of His incredible humility and His willingness to suffer so that you could be free. He didn’t just pay a fine; He gave His life. Because of the Lamb, you can walk into God’s presence with a clean heart and no shame.
Meditation: Thank the Lamb of God for His sacrifice. If you are carrying guilt today, lay it at His feet. The Lamb has already paid for it.
Jehovah Rapha: The Lord Who Heals
Scripture: “…for I am the Lord who heals you.” — Exodus 15:26
The Revelation: Jesus spent most of His ministry manifesting as the Healer. Jehovah Rapha doesn’t just provide medicine; He is the medicine. Whether it is a broken heart, a wounded mind, or a diseased body, His very presence carries the power to mend, restore, and make whole. He is the Great Physician who never loses a case.
Meditation: Place your hand on the part of your body or soul that needs healing. Whisper: “Jehovah Rapha, touch me now. I receive Your healing virtue into my life.”
The Light of the World
Scripture: “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness…’” — John 8:12
The Revelation: Light does two things: it reveals and it guides. When you are in the dark, you stumble and you are afraid. But when the Light of the World enters the room, you see things as they really are. Jesus exposes the lies of the enemy and shows you the path of safety. In Him, there is no shadow and no confusion.
Meditation: If you feel like you are walking in a “fog,” ask the Light of the World to shine in your heart. Watch how the confusion disappears as He shows you the truth.
The Advocate
Scripture: “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” — 1 John 2:1
The Revelation: An advocate is a legal representative—a lawyer who stands up for you in court. When the enemy (the “accuser”) tries to bring charges against you, Jesus stands up as your Advocate. He doesn’t argue that you are “innocent”; He argues that He has already paid your penalty. He is your defense attorney in the courts of heaven, and He has never lost a trial.
Meditation: Stop trying to defend yourself to God or others. Let your Advocate handle the case. Rest in the fact that your Representative has already won the verdict.
The Rock of Ages
Scripture: “Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength (the Rock of Ages).” — Isaiah 26:4
The Revelation: A rock represents something that cannot be moved, changed, or destroyed. Most things in our lives are “sand”—emotions change, the economy changes, and people change. But Jesus is the Rock of Ages. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. When the storms of life hit, you don’t have to be afraid if you are standing on the Rock.
Meditation: Find a firm place to stand. Feel the ground beneath you. Say: “Jesus, You are my Rock. I am not moved by the storm because I am anchored in You.”
The Amen
Scripture: “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God.’” — Revelation 3:14
The Revelation: “Amen” is a word we usually say at the end of a prayer, but it is actually a Title that belongs to Jesus. In Hebrew, Amen means “so be it,” “it is settled,” or “truth.” Jesus is the finality of every promise God has ever made.2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us that all the promises of God are “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ. This means that if God made a promise in His Word, Jesus is the one who stands as the “Final Word” to make it happen in your life. He is the “Settler” of all things. When the world says “maybe,” Jesus says “Amen!”
Meditation: Find a promise in the Bible that you are waiting to see fulfilled. Speak that promise out loud, and then say, “Jesus, You are the Amen to this promise in my life. It is settled!”
