Rest for the Weary Soul

Scripture: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28

Thought for Today: Weariness isn’t just “being tired”—it’s a spiritual weight that settles on your heart when you’ve been carrying things you were never meant to hold. We often try to fix exhaustion by sleeping, but soul-weariness only responds to a Person. Jesus isn’t asking for a polished version of you; He’s asking for the “heavy laden” you. Coming to Him is like dropping a 100-pound pack at the feet of a Giant. You don’t have to earn this rest; you just have to show up and surrender the load.

Work the Word
The “Casting” Call: Identify the top three things weighing on your mind right now. Physically hold your hands out open, palms up, and say: “Lord, I am handing You the weight of [Name the situation]. I refuse to carry this today.” Every time your mind tries to “pick it back up,” remind yourself: “I already handed that to the Master.”

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I’m tired of trying to be my own strength. I come to You right now. I lay my burdens at Your feet and I breathe in Your supernatural rest. Refresh my spirit as only You can. Amen.

Key Truth to Remember: Rest is not a reward for finishing; it is a gift for starting your day with Him.
