Overcoming the Desire to Quit

Scripture: “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again.” — Proverbs 24:16

Thought for Today: The desire to quit usually comes right before the breakthrough. It’s the “midnight” of the soul. Quitting feels like a relief in the moment, but it’s a permanent solution to a temporary problem. The difference between a “failure” and a “righteous man” isn’t that the righteous man never falls—it’s that he gets back up. Victory isn’t defined by a perfect track record; it’s defined by being the one who refuses to stay down. If you’re still breathing, God’s not done!

Work the Word
The “Rise Again” Action: If you’ve been feeling like throwing in the towel, go to a place where you can be alone. Physically sit on the floor. Now, with intentionality, stand back up. As you stand, shout: “I’m back up! I’m still here! God is still with me!”

Prayer: Father, I thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. I silence the voice that tells me to quit. I receive Your fresh grace to stand up, dust myself off, and move forward. I’m finishing what we started! In Jesus Name Amen.

Key Truth to Remember: You haven’t failed until you stop getting up.
