Breaking the Weight of Emotional Fatigue

Scripture: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1

Thought for Today: Emotional fatigue is the “exhaustion of the heart.” It comes from caring too much, carrying too much, and worrying about everyone else. But look at the Shepherd’s promise: “I shall not want.” This means you don’t have to “want” for peace or “want” for strength. When you let the Shepherd lead, you stop trying to control the sheep and the scenery. He takes the responsibility for the outcome, and you get to enjoy the green pastures. The weight is off!

Work the Word
The “Shepherd’s Hand-off”: Make a list of everyone and everything you are currently worrying about. Physically place that list under a Bible. Say: “Good Shepherd, these are Your responsibility today. I’m going to go play in the pasture.”

Prayer: Lord, I resign from being the “General Manager” of the universe. I am the sheep; You are the Shepherd. I trust You to handle the details while I rest in Your care. In Jesus Name Amen.

Key Truth to Remember: You can’t be the Shepherd and the sheep at the same time—pick one.
