Baptized in the Name of Jesus

Acts 8:16  (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Baptize means to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge . It is God’s will that we receive baptism. In the bible there are several baptisms. We will look at three of them in our today’s nugget. Baptism into Christ. When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are emerged into Jesus Christ. You are baptized into Christ. You are now seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Your inner man is born again and you are new on the inside. The new you wants to live for Jesus and serve him. That is why you can live right because you are in him and he’s in you. You are emerged together. You are one! Hallelujah! This is the most important baptism of them all!

Next, water baptism is when you are submerged into water. You receive water baptism because you have repented and received Jesus as your Lord and savior. When John baptized in water, the people came repenting. It is the baptism of repentance for remission of sins. After Jesus rose from the dead, we still receive water baptism because it is an outward show of what happened inwardly. Our sins are forgiven. We are washed and then we come out the water risen to a new life. It demonstrates we are emerged into Jesus Christ and all our sins are washed away and we are risen to a new life because we are a new creation in Christ Jesus! There were a group of people who were baptized in John’s baptism, but when they heard about Jesus, they were baptized again in Jesus Name!

You can also be baptized in the Holy Ghost. This baptism happens after you are born again. It can happen in the same moment but it is always after you have received Jesus as your Lord and savior. However, sometimes, people are baptized in the Holy Ghost but they haven’t been baptized in water.

Have you experienced these three baptisms? If not, receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior and be baptized into Christ! Ask your pastor or leaders of your church to baptize you with water in Jesus Name! Go expecting to experience God. Ask Jesus to baptize you with the Holy Ghost and Fire in Jesus Name.
