Delight in the Jesus!

We each have different delights. Some of us delight in certain foods. I enjoy a good tasting sweet potato pie. My husband delights in tools. It warms his heart when he purchases a new tool, such as a zero turn with all the bells and whistles or a special ratchet that can use to reach hard places. Whether it pie or tools, each desire causes us to crave for more. He wants more tools and I want more pie. Why? It’s our delight.

What about our delight in the Lord? When God becomes our delight, we’ll want more of him. We will hunger for more of His Word, His Spirit, and anything that belongs to Him. Because we delight in the Lord, we make time for Him. He’s carved into our daily schedule and if we miss our appointment with him, we are very disappointed because Jesus is our delight. We take great pleasure in our quiet time of prayer and fellowship.

Is Jesus your delight? Do you take pleasure in Jesus or is he scheduled in your busy schedule as just another task to complete? Schedule a quiet time with God daily and enjoy that time. Before you know it, you would have develop a lasting habit which will reproduce great pleasure and delight in the Lord!
