Healing for the Wounded Heart
Scripture: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3
Thought for Today: We often try to hide our wounds behind a “strong” face, but God is not intimidated by your pain—He is drawn to it. He doesn’t just patch you up; He “binds” you, which means He provides the specialized care and protection needed for total restoration. Think of a master surgeon who is also a loving Father. He knows exactly where it hurts, and He has the medicine of the Spirit ready to soothe the sting. You don’t have to heal yourself; you just have to give Him the pieces.
Work the Word
The “Hand-Off” Prayer: Sit in a quiet place and put your hand over your heart. Identify a specific hurt or “sting” from your past or present. Imagine yourself physically handing that wound to Jesus and say: “Lord, I give You this pain. I release the hurt and I receive Your healing touch.“
Prayer: Father, thank You for being close to the brokenhearted. I stop hiding my wounds from You. I ask for Your gentle healing to flow through my emotions and my memories today. Make me whole again. Amen.
Key Truth to Remember: God’s specialty is taking broken pieces and making a beautiful story.
